Consistent and reliable

I've used EdPlace for my kids' SATs Practice and 11 Plus Preparation for a few years now. This latest subscription for GCSE Maths and English was just as straightforward as previous times. The curriculum-aligned lessons are always well-structured, and the progress reports help a lot. Delivery isn't really a thing since it's online, but access was instant. One small thing, sometimes the interactive worksheets can be a bit slow to load on older tablets, but it's manageable.

Good for SATs, small issue

I signed up for the SATs Practice for my son last month. The content was pretty solid and curriculum-aligned, which was a big plus. He found the interactive worksheets helpful, and I liked the progress reports; they gave a clear picture of where he stood. However, I had a bit of trouble finding specific topics for KS2 Maths at first. The navigation could be a little more intuitive to jump straight to certain areas. Overall, it's a good tool, but that one minor thing could be better.

Decent value, confusing checkout

I was looking for some GCSE English Language revision for my daughter and decided to try EdPlace. I found a deal for 50% off the first month, which was a good incentive to try it out. The content seems thorough, and she's found it useful so far. However, the checkout process was a bit confusing; it wasn't immediately clear where to apply the promotional code, and I had to click around a bit to make sure it was applied correctly. Once that was sorted, the value for money seems decent for what you get.

Easy to use for 11 Plus

Got this for my son's 11 Plus prep, specifically the Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. It was pretty easy to get started. Just signed up, picked the plan, and he was off doing practice questions. He liked the format, said it made studying less boring than just books. I found the parent dashboard intuitive enough to check what he was up to. It took him a bit to figure out how to navigate between different subjects sometimes, but once he got it, it was smooth sailing. No real complaints, it did the job for us.

Good value for GCSE

I was looking for some GCSE Biology and Chemistry revision for my son. After comparing a few platforms, EdPlace seemed to offer the most for the price, especially with the annual subscription discount I found. The mock exams and AQA revision papers were very comprehensive. It felt like a solid investment given how much content you get. I did notice that the pricing structure for adding extra children isn't always immediately clear, but overall, it was definitely worth what I paid.

Reliable revision platform

This isn't my first time using EdPlace. I've been with them for about a year now, first for my older daughter's 11 Plus Preparation, and now for my younger one doing KS3 English. They're consistently reliable. The content is always relevant, and the automated marking saves me so much time. I always appreciate how the Parent Dashboard helps me keep tabs on their work without having to hover. It just works, every time.

Quick KS3 Science help

Needed some quick KS3 Science practice. EdPlace offered good content. Navigation was straightforward. My child used it for a few weeks. Instant access after subscribing. Some of the older lessons felt a little basic, but it covered what we needed. Good for a quick boost.

Detailed KS2 experience

I signed up for KS2 Maths and English for my daughter. The ordering process was simple enough on their website. I used the parent dashboard quite a bit to assign tasks and track her progress, which worked well. The automated marking is a big plus. We had a minor issue understanding one of the Algebra topics, so I contacted support; they replied within a day with a helpful explanation. The interactive worksheets are decent, though some of the graphics could be updated a bit. She enjoyed the student rewards system, it kept her engaged. The content is definitely aligned with the curriculum, which is what we needed for her SATS prep.

How does EdPlace compare to something like BBC Bitesize for GCSEs? Is it just more of the same or actually different?

B Brian 1 month ago
Bitesize is good for explanations, but EdPlace has way more practice questions and actually tracks progress. Bitesize is more like a knowledge base, EdPlace is for practice and testing.
2
J Jessica S. 1 month ago
EdPlace is more interactive, and the auto-marking is a huge plus. Bitesize is free though, so depends if you need the extra features.

Does EdPlace actually cover specific exam boards like AQA for GCSE science, or is it just generic stuff?

H Hannah Campbell 1 month ago
They do, yeah. My kid's doing AQA for science and English, and they have resources specifically for that. Just make sure you select the right one.

R Rachel A. 1 month ago
Afaik, they cover AQA and Edexcel. Not sure about others but you can usually filter by exam board.

Is there usually a free trial for EdPlace? Don't want to commit if it's not a good fit for my kid.

L Linda Sanchez 4 weeks ago
Yup, pretty sure they almost always have a 14-day free trial for new users. Definitely worth doing to test it out.

K Karen E. 4 weeks ago
Yeah, they do. Check their homepage, usually pops up right away. Makes it easy to see if your kid will actually use it.

Hey, anyone know if EdPlace actually covers AQA stuff for GCSE science? Or is it just general topics?

L Lisa Ramirez 1 month ago
Yeah, they totally do. My son used it for GCSE Biology (AQA) last year and it had specific papers and revision for that board. Pretty comprehensive.

T Tim Thomas 4 weeks ago
They list AQA, Edexcel, and OCR. So you should be good there. Not just generic, they try to match exam board content from what I've seen.

I'm looking at EdPlace for my two kids. Is there like, a way to get a discount if I sign up both of them?

J Joseph Nguyen 3 weeks ago
Yep, they do a sibling discount. I got one for my two, just had to ask support how to apply it after signing up the first one, I think.

Z Zach Sanchez 2 weeks ago
Pretty sure they have something for multiple children on one account. Worth checking their help section, or just ask them.

Does anyone know if EdPlace works okay on an iPad? My kid mostly uses a tablet for schoolwork.

T Thomas Torres 1 month ago
Yeah, it does. My son uses it on his Samsung tablet all the time, so I'd imagine an iPad would be fine too.

H Hannah Johnson 1 month ago
Works fine on my daughter's iPad mini. No issues with the app or website.

Hey guys, thinking of signing up for EdPlace for my kid's GCSEs. Is it actually worth it or just another one of those online things?

L Lisa Garcia 1 month ago
Yeah, I've been using it for my daughter for like 6 months now for her KS3 stuff. The automated marking is a lifesaver, and she actually kinda likes the rewards. Definitely better than just drilling flashcards.

N Nancy Sanchez 1 month ago
I found it pretty solid for 11+ prep. The content's aligned with the curriculum, which is good. My son really benefited from the practice questions.

thinking about signing up for EdPlace for my kid's 11+. Is it actually good or should I look at something like Bond?

S Sean Davis 1 month ago
EdPlace was really solid for our 11+ prep. The tracking dashboard was super helpful to see where they needed more work. Bond is good too, but EdPlace felt more interactive.
6
G Grace M. 1 month ago
I've used both. EdPlace has more varied question types I think, and the auto-marking saves a ton of time. Bond is classic though, can't go wrong with either really.
